Enjoying Cebu Nightlife

If you love the nightlife, Cebu City will never bore you, as there are so many choices to party the night away.  You may want to mingle with the Cebu locals as they are very hospitable people and know how to have a great time.  The most common way of going around the city is by hiring a cab from your hotel to your choice destination.  Taxi services implement a flag down rate; expect not to spend more than $3, unless the traffic is really bad.  Here is a list of bars that you may want to check out on your visit to the Queen City of the South:

  • Numero Doce Bar (Mango Avenue) – a sit-down type of bar, where guests can chat over bottles of beer while techno music is playing in the background.  This is famous with students and yuppies the bar doesn’t charge an entrance fee.
  • El Gecko Resto Bar (Mango Avenue) – enjoy a free game of billiard/pool table and darts while waiting for your orders.  This is a favorite among locals and expats alike because of the great food and commendable service.  Pizzas, Mexican fare and a few Filipino dishes grace their menu.
  • Mango Square (near Fuente Osmena Circle) – the Mango Square is a famous destination of the Cebuanos, especially during the weekends.  It is a building with different bars and restaurants, so you’ll surely find one that suits your tastes.
  • Ratsky Bar – features local bands to entertain you until 3 in the morning.  Famous for their seafood dishes!
  • Sunflower City (Salinas Drive) – One of the best places to shake your groove thing.  The bar features a DJ who plays the current hits while partygoers dance til the wee hours of the morning.
  • Casino Filipino (Waterfront Cebu City Hotel) – if you wish to get your adrenaline going over a good game of baccarat or slots, there are two Casino Filipinos on the island, one in Cebu City and another in Mactan, in front of the airport.
